As clichéd as it may sound, one of the characteristics of a Lightworker is the desire to make the world a better place.
We want to Heal the World…
Make a Change…
Help those in need…
Save the Planet…
Save the Animals…
It’s just a part of who we are.
This article is not about finding your Life Purpose or fulfilling it. In this article, we’re going to talk about how you can stay sane and not burn out, while doing your Light WORK! Your Light WORK is your Global Life Purpose.
Advice #1 – It’s Not Your Job to Save the Entire Planet!
It’s so easy to get trapped in this idea that it’s your job to save everyone and everything because you’re a Lightworker. If that were the case, you’d not be able to do anything else – and you can’t be in more than one place at once! So please cut yourself some slack.
Lightworkers are meant to lift the healing of the world together. We’re working as a global team doing the Light WORK that’s assigned to us.
When a Lightworker runs off by themselves and believes that they, all by themselves, are supposed to save the entire planet – that’s when their Ego has gained control over their Divine assignment. In other words, thinking that it’s your job to save the entire planet is super selfish and a detachment from your Light WORK.
Advice #2 – Follow Your Passions!
A Lightworker can have up to a maximum of 5 Global Life Purposes. Global Life Purposes are transformed into Light WORK. However, about 80% of all Lightworkers only have 1 Global Life Purpose.
The quickest way to get started is to look into your passions. What cause are you most passionate about?
- Saving an endangered species.
- Rescuing circus animals.
- Helping children with cancer.
- Helping homeless people.
- Helping abused children.
- Give elderly people some good final days at the hospice.
- Helping people to succeed.
- Saving the rainforest.
- Equal rights for everyone.
There are so many ways to go about fulfilling your Global Life Purpose – you can do it as a charity, join an NGO, work for a non-profit organisation, do it as your full-time day job… however works for you.
Bøglund Lightworkers is my Light WORK and how I’m fulfilling some of my Global Life Purposes. But I have also worked as an ambassador for several charity organisations I was passionate about.
So who are you most passionate about helping?
Advice #3 – Have Faith in Your Fellow-Lightworkers!
There are millions of Lightworkers all over the globe. Everyone has each their own assignments.
I’m not religious, and I don’t belong to any religion, but for lack of a better way to explain how things work with Lightworkers and Light WORK, I would have to use some religious terms.
Lightworkers means Workers of the Light. The Light is The Light of Love, which is an extension of the Source of Love. The Source of Love is what you know as God. So Lightworkers are Workers of the Divine Love!
There are millions of Lightworkers all over the world, ALL working with the guidance of Divine Love.
You can say that we all work for God.Inc, if that makes it easier to comprehend. Like in any other corporation, every person has their assignments and job to do. Those assignments and jobs are what we call Light WORK, or Global Life Purposes. Each Lightworker’s Light WORK is perfectly designed to that specific Lightworker’s interests, passions, skills, and life!
It’s super selfish to think that one Lightworker should do something about all issues in the world.
Only focus on the 1-3 causes you’re burning with passion for, and leave the rest to your fellow Lightworkers!
It’s a matter of having Faith that the Lightworkers who are assigned for the other causes will take care of the issue. It’s not your job to micro-managing other Lightworkers and tell them how to do their Light WORK. Focus on your own Light WORK, and let the Universe handle the rest.
Advice #4 – Remember to Have Fun!
One thing I have noticed is the first many years after a person finds out he/she/they is a Lightworker, they tend to change their life completely. Cutting out all the things they once thought were fun. Some even start to behave like they’re some sort of nuns or monks without belonging to an abbey.
Let’s just get records straight, shall we…
Lightworkers are meant to have fun! When we are having fun, laughing and enjoying our lives, our Energy Frequency increases – the Higher our Energy Frequency is, the more powerful we are as Lightworkers.
However, the fun has to be natural and comes from an organic source!
It means the fun and good time you have when you’re wasted or on drugs doesn’t count. The need to get drunk or take drugs is a need to escape from reality!
But Lightworkers are allowed to drink!
Lightworkers are allowed to have a sex life… even get their kinky on if that’s what they like…
Lightworkers are allowed to swear and use the eff-word.
NO ONE tells you how to live your life!
All you’re asked is to keep your Energy Frequency naturally high and make a daily effort to do your Light WORK and contribute to the overall healing of the world.
If you want to give up alcohol, do it because it’s something that comes deep within you – not because you think that’s the right thing to do.
Many Lightworkers give up eating meat! Mostly because of animal welfare and protecting the animal kingdom. I stopped eating meat when I flew the nest. I made the decision for two reasons:
- I simply can’t stand the thought that another being has to be killed in order for me to get something to eat – ESPECIALLY when there are so many other opportunities to have something to eat.
- When I eat animal-based products, I start having visions of the animal’s life, its pain, and living circumstances… Everything that is stored in the animal’s Energy is now running through my system and messing with my psychic abilities. If I’m walking past a butcher’s shop, I get first-hand visions of how those animals were slaughtered. If I’m walking past the refrigerated counter in the supermarket and touch some of the meat in there, I get visions of the animal’s life. It always makes me nauseous.
Look, saving the animals isn’t a part of my Light WORK, yet I love animals. I like animals a whole lot better than humans!
Giving up meat is not a Light WORK or Global Life Purpose… it’s something we do because we do it because we have a strong feeling inside that tells us to do it.
Read my statements again about why I don’t eat meat. “Can’t Stand the Thought!”… “Making me Nauseous!” – When you have that strong feelings or reactions to something, then it’s a sign to give it up… and frankly… giving it up comes quite naturally!
If you don’t have that kind of strong feelings or reactions to something, then there is no reason to change your life into the way you think you are supposed to live to be a good Lightworker.
Advice #5 – Prioritise Your Own Health and Healing!
If there is one thing Lightworkers are really good at, then it is to put everybody else’s needs before their own! I don’t know how many articles I have written here in the Resource Hub where I have spoken about Lightworkers’ tendency to be world-class People Pleasers, but it’s a lot!
It comes so naturally for Lightworkers to be People Pleasers, and some even suffer from Codependency. The worst part of all this is that some Lightworkers actually take great pride in being People Pleasers. They think it’s their destiny and purpose in life to take care of everybody else.
I have to be honest with you…
When someone thinks it’s their destiny and purpose in life to take care of everybody else, and they continually put other needs before their own, it’s a tell-tale sign that the person has major self-esteem issues.
It’s one of the loudest and clearest signs that the person has very little self-esteem, lacks self-love and needs others to appreciate to fill in the void of lacking self-worth.
I always feel sorry for people who feel that they only matter if they take care of everybody else!
You won’t be able to do your Light WORK or fulfil your Global Life Purposes if your self-esteem, self-love, self-worth, and, well, self-respect are so low that you need other people’s affirmation!
You just can’t!
In this case, you would have to focus solely on your Personal Life Purposes [insert course link] for awhile, and commit to working on your self-growth! Light WORK needs confidence and assertiveness. You need to be able to stand up for others, what you believe in, AND YOURSELF!
Most Lightworkers have a history of being bullied, harassed, teased, some even abused physically, mentally, emotionally – maybe even sexually. We have all been kicked down in the dirt over and over and over… but we also keep rising up because we know in our hearts that we’re meant to make a difference. We know that even though it might be hurting right now, we can use that pain to help others who are in a similar situation.
For instance, I’m a child abuse survivor, and my mother is a narcissist with psychopathic traits. No matter how many books you read about the topic, no matter how many documentaries you watch, no matter how many degrees you have as a psychiatrist or a doctor, no matter how many people like me you talk with… you would NEVER understand the pain and the trauma I have – UNLESS you too are a survivor of child abuse and have a mentally ill parent. I took my childhood trauma and turned it into a part of my Light WORK, and from I was 17-28, I gave talks on schools, wrote a lot of letters to the editor, gave interviews for magazines and talk shows, and did a TV documentary where I shared my story. I’ve never been interested in getting the attention – I hate to be the center of attention, to be honest – I did it because I know that every time I am sharing my story on a public platform, it helps at least 1 other kid, and at least 10 kids can recognise themselves in my story.
This is why it’s so important to use our own stories to help others in a similar situation. We’re helping from our own knowledge and experience, which we only can have because we know first-hand how it is to be in that person’s situation. But before we’re capable of helping anyone, we need to work on our own healing first!
You must get into therapy and work on your own issues and traumas BEFORE you’re in any position to help others in the same situation!
Advice #6 – Be a Role Model.
Your most important job as a Lightworker is to be a Role Model!
It’s up to you how you choose to be a Role Model – all that’s asked of you is to be a beacon of Divine Love and Light!
It’s important to remember that we all have Free Will. No one is supposed to do anything they don’t want to.
If you don’t know what your Light WORK and Global Life Purposes are, but you still want to make the world a better place, being a Role Model is a great place to start! Be a beacon of Divine Love and Light, and walk your talk in everything you do.
However, it’s not your job to tell people how they should live their life. You have no right to impose your rights and wrongs on anyone. Do not give in to the temptation to force, convince or even manipulate others to believe that your way is the right way. You are not a Messiah! You don’t have all the answers! So be humble and just focus on bringing Love and Light into any situation you encounter.
A Role Model doesn’t tell people how to live their life or what they should believe. A Role Model lives by example. It’s not what you say; It’s what you do!
The real core essence of being a Lightworker is not to save the entire planet or take care of everybody… no, the REAL CORE ESSENCE of being a Real Lightworker is to be a true Role Model who is walking his/her/their talk – and here is the kicker… it’s not our words that make any difference in the world – IT’S OUR ACTIONS!
